Try These Awesome Gift Ideas For Adults

Try These Awesome Gift Ideas For Adults

i celebrated my birthday last week and I was thinking – For someone my age (29), what would be the best gifts to receive?

Nope. This isn’t a selfish post because I honestly think people who already graduated from toys and clothes want to receive gifts that can broaden their experience. With that in mind, here are some of the my ideas.

Gift Ideas for Adults

1. Home cooked meals or better yet, a nice cook book.

Most of us work and a lot of times, we resort to fast food. Apparently, that’s not a healthy choice. But since we live in such a fast moving world, we give in. It would be awesome for someone to give me a home-cooked meal. Or maybe a cook book so I will be inspired to work in the kitchen.

2. Self – help book

Since we are already talking about books, another idea for a gift is, well – a good book. Please, spare me the e- ones because I still love to read the conventional books. Ahhhh the smell of each page is just pure bliss.

3. A free course to ‘something new’

Because I still want to learn! It can be a pottery class, a dance session, an acting class, or a yoga one! What matters most is that it is new to me and yes, FOR FREE!

4. A hiking adventure

Or something similar. It would be nice to lift myself from an office chair to experience the woods. As a gift, you don’t have to spend so much. Just be a good friend and tag along. ☺

Do you have more ideas to pitch? Why don’t you share it through PeN?

How To Forgive Those Who Have Wronged You – Start The Year Right!

How To Forgive Those Who Have Wronged You – Start The Year Right!

At some point in our lives, people will hurt us, the same way that we have hurt others (intentional or unintentional). If you are someone who can apologize easily, that’s good because you know how to acknowledge your mistakes. However, forgiving can be a bit challenging and it depends on the gravity of the pain. Nevertheless, we all should learn how to forgive. If you will hold onto your grudge, you are just hurting yourself even more.

Finding it hard to forgive? Here are some tips to help you

  • Accept that past is past and there is nothing you can do about it.
  • Try to write down ‘what you could have done’ in that same situation that lit up a fire in your heart. This will give you the assurance that you have learned from the mistake.
  • Always take the high – way and choose the right thing to do.
  • Look at the brighter side of life.

Below are some ideas I got from here.

  • Look at your future and imagine yourself not suffering from any pain.
  • Pray or improve your spiritual life.
  • Don’t go to sleep angry.
  • Stop the blame and try to be more understanding.
  • Always think that you can control how you respond to things.
  • Stop controlling other people’s reactions and feelings.
  • Let GO!

Let them know that you forgave them by sending a message or calling through PeN.

Changing Yourself One Step At A Time!

Changing Yourself One Step At A Time!

It’s New Year and as cliché as this may sound, it’s the perfect time to change your old ways. However, I know that it is easier said than done. The good news is – it is not IMPOSSIBLE. You just have to be determined on the changes that you will do with your life.

I personally looked for ways on how we can successfully change our bad habits and I will share some of those that I might apply.

  • Write down your positive attitudes and the not so good ones. In short, assess yourself.
  • Check out your ‘not so good’ list and identify which ones you need to change. Remember, you have to take one step at a time. Change shouldn’t be drastic. You can pick at least 2 or 3 and work on those instead of trying to change everything from your list. Doing everything all at once might get you exhausted and you will fail to complete the ‘change’.
  • Reward yourself. If you think you are on the right path, you can treat yourself once in a while.
  • Always think about the sole reason why you need to change. This tip is recommended most especially if you are tempted to go back to your old ways. For example, you are trying to quit smoking and failed on your 10th day. Don’t get frustrated and just always try your best to get back.
  • Tell your loved ones and friends about your plans. This is so they can remind you and you will be forced to achieve that change.
  • Evaluate yourself from time to time. It is also good if you check on yourself once in a while. See your progress and take note of it.

And speaking of change, you might need to also try something new. For example, using an app that lets you do a number of amazing things. I am talking about PeN and you should try it out for yourself.

Spending Christmas Away from your Families and Friends?

Spending Christmas Away from your Families and Friends?

It’s almost Christmas and you are probably seeing a lot of commercials and advertisements about the Holidays! Most of these consist of family and friends gathering together, sharing smiles, sharing amazing home-cooked meals, and exchanging gifts.

Instead of being happy, you actually feel sad just because – you are far away from your loved ones.

Of course, nothing can replace being with them, most especially this season. But that doesn’t mean you need to deprive yourself of being happy. Here are some of the alternative activities you can do to still enjoy the Holiday – even if you are miles away from your ‘gang’.

Spend Christmas with Newly-Found Friends

If you are new in the town, it’s about time that you widen your circle. Even if your closest friends are in another place, that shouldn’t stop you from making new ones. Perhaps, some of them are open to having you as a special guest. At least you get to enjoy Christmas with another set of family.

Send Simple Gifts to Your Loved Ones

Show your love by sending gifts to your loved ones back home. This doesn’t have to be expensive. You just have to let them know that you care. Why don’t you send a Christmas postcard? Personally, I would rather have the traditional cards than an e-card. That’s more personal, don’t you think?

Organize a Charitable Event

Pay it forward by sharing your blessings with the needy. If you and your friends are all spending Christmas away from your families, maybe you can organize an event such as this. I tell you, it will be awesome.

Video Call with Your Families and Friends

And lastly, you can still celebrate with the people you cherish the most. But this time, it’s going to be virtual. It’s the next best thing!

I remember my brother spending his New Year’s Eve in the Middle East. What we did was to set a video call with him. He was happily eating his ice cream from his hotel while watching fireworks thousands of miles away!

Speaking of video call, download PeN and get connected with your family – and win REWARDS too!

What’s the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kids?

What’s the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kids?

When it comes to parenting, I wouldn’t say I’m the best. In fact, it’s still a long shot before I become one (if ever I will become one). However, have you ever thought of what’s the best thing you can give your kids? I mean, we can’t live forever. At some point, they will have to live on their own.

Some parents would secure their kids’ future by opening a trust fund, handing down a car, buying them a property, or establishing a business which they can continue. These are all good, right? And I see nothing wrong. However, if you are to ask me, I would rather not leave my kids material things but life lessons which they need to survive.

I will teach them the following concepts:

  • You don’t need to be rich to be happy.
  • You can survive with simple things in life.
  • The world’s resources are enough. Learn how to share.
  • Dream big to make the world a better place for everyone!

The last one is something we all have to embrace. You see, we always want to dream big – but most of the time, we dream for ourselves. Wouldn’t it be better if we dream for everyone’s future? With small steps and with that same ideals, we can definitely make a change. Sounds cliche, yes! But effective!

Speaking of making the world a better place, that’s one of the reasons why I stay with PeN. This app has the objective of bringing the world closer through technology. We want to touch lives and help more people improve in small ways that we can.

Download now and learn more.

Quotes About Sharing – Must SHARE – Because Sharing is Caring

Quotes About Sharing – Must SHARE – Because Sharing is Caring

I’ve written a piece about sharing, and for some reason – I can’t stop! And to celebrate my love for this concept, I will share with you some of the best quotes I found online.

Be inspired by these awesome quotes!

“Sharing is good, and with digital technology, sharing is easy.” – Richard Stallman

“Democracy must be built through open societies that share information. When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation.” – Atifete Jahjaga

“Writing means sharing. It’s part of the human condition to want to share – things thoughts, ideas, opinions.” = Paulo Coelho

“There is real value in sharing moments that don’t live forever.” – Even Spiegel

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” – Mother Teresa

“A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.” – Jack London

“This life is for loving, sharing, learning, smiling, caring, forgiving, laughing, hugging, helping, dancing, wondering, healing, and even more loving. I choose to live life this way. I want to live my life in such a way that when I get out of bed in the morning, the devil says, ‘aw shit, he’s up!” – Steve Maraboli

“Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.” – Brian Tracy

We all need to learn how to share, and we need to start in ways we can. With PeN app, we are already doing our best to build a small sharing economy where our PeN Pals can also earn using our app. If you want to know more, download now.

Why I Love the Concept of Sharing – The World’s Resources Should Be Enough

Why I Love the Concept of Sharing – The World’s Resources Should Be Enough

Often times I wonder, why are there so many people below the poverty line, and why are there some who are extremely rich? Of course, there are a lot of things to factor in, right? Some people have more opportunities, while others, unfortunately, do not have it.

But then I think again, can those who are considered ‘privileged’ share what they have? Can you imagine how amazing this world will be if we enjoy the same things? There will be no hunger, no poverty, and no jealousy.

I guess it will all boil down to one thing. Most of us are trained to go up the ladder. We are animals by nature and we want to win – even if we really don’t have an idea what we are fighting for. Often times, we forget about those who are below us.

Isn’t it about time that we pull them up too?

I guess, what we need to learn now is to live a simple life. By having that kind of thinking, we are not enclosed in a materialistic mindset. We find happiness by doing good to others and by paying it forward instead of getting things, which most of the time – we don’t really need.

Personally, I think that the world’s resources are enough for all of us. It’s how it was meant to be. The problem is that some people become too greedy, that those without power cannot enjoy the same things. It’s the high time for us to let go of our materialistic ‘wants’, and do something more valuable.

This doesn’t have to be in form of money or goods. Maybe, you can share your time and teach out of school children. Or, you can help environmental organizations in bringing back the glory of our mother earth.

If you will look at it, surviving in this world isn’t hard. It is just us, humans, that make it more complex.

It’s time to share!

I’m happy that PeN is working on that same concept of sharing. While we need to be profitable to deliver exemplary services to our PeN Pals, we always find ways to share what we earn. Yes! That’s true. You can earn credits, which you can use to purchase real-world items just by using the app.

Is It Easy to Earn Trust from Your Employees? – How to Do It

Is It Easy to Earn Trust from Your Employees? – How to Do It

To be honest, earning trust isn’t an easy task but certainly not impossible. In doing so, you need to have the genuine intentions.

It would help if you know the ways on how you can get someone else’s trust, in this case from your employees. This is good not just for your personal life, it’s also essential in growing your professional career, or business for that matter. Remember, you can have a wider pool of clients and more productive employees if people trust you, the same way they trust your products and services.

Here’s How You Can Earn Trust from your Employees

What can you offer to the team?

As a leader, you shouldn’t just sit down and see what your employees can give you. You have to get out there and see if there is anything you can help them with. If they see you actually ‘doing’ it (without faking it of course), you are establishing respect and at the same time, trust.

Know what you need and discuss it with clarity.

When your team needs to accomplish something, you have to be clear about the objective. Try to be as clear and concise as you can. Answer questions the best way possible.

Know what and to whom you would delegate the tasks.

This is where you need to trust your employees. Before diving into a project, it is important that you know your employees’ strengths and weaknesses. By doing so, you can properly delegate assignments. From there, you will be certain that they can handle it, enabling you to finish it on time, or even before the deadline.

Always give your honest feedback.

If you want to get their trust, you need to have a dialogue with each and one of them. If you see something out of the norm that might affect the whole team’s performance, it is ideal to talk to the concerned employee. Do not, in any case, humiliate them. Talk to them as calm as possible and be sincere in providing solutions, if needed.

Do not engage in gossips.

Gossips can be tempting, but definitely something you should avoid. Do not encourage such within your team. Make them feel that instead of talking about other’s business, they might as well talk about more positive things.

Admit your mistakes.

You are not perfect. Don’t worry. No one is. If you did something wrong, it is best to admit it. That way, your employees will do the same. You need to set an example, and they will follow the lead.

Speaking of earning, PeN allows you to earn PeNney which you can eventually use for purchasing real-world items. Download the app right now and share the good news with your friends.
